The We Care Gang puts on these events to build community where the entire county (including visitors) is invited to spend the day together enjoying good food, fun and live music. At the same time these events are used to raise money to help needy persons in Brown County with food and shelter related needs.

The 2010"Abe Martin's County Picnic", which will be the 6th annual picnic event, is to be held on Saturday, September 18th, centered at the Village Green. There will be food, fun and music again. The "NashCar" Outhouse Races are to be held again this year with a few new changes. We will be serving pork, hotdogs, potato chips, baked beans and drinks. Again this Year: |

This years picnic will include our traditional hog roast , side offerings and drinks. Corn Hole games will be available in the streets at different times during the day as will the “We Care Gang” Plunger Toss. The 6th Annual “Nashcar Outhouse Races” will take place later in the afternoon and the Indiana Pacers “Boomerr” will be on hand to wave the checkered flag. Outhouse Race Team entries will compete for points through the Plunger Toss competition and Corn Hole competitions. Teams will also compete for “Community Choice” which is determined by the most $1.00 votes collected and for best overall team and entry appearance/performance. The race begins at the top of the hill in front of the Hobnob Restaurant and runs down hill, west, towards the Gazebo. There are limited entry positions available, for entry information and rules, visit the "Nashcar" Web page. This year we will be raffling off the Hand painted Outhouse that has been seen around town.
